Your Subtitle text
The Desert Bandanna a look and history.

The Desert Bandanna has been around since 1999 when the first ones were made as gifts for the Hike for Hope Breast Cancer Research Charity Hike in Palm Springs, Ca. Since then many tales have come back to us about people who have been helped out by this book on a piece of cloth. On the 10th Anniversary we present the Desert Bandanna - Third Edition. New and expanded to carry the tradition forward; that others may live.

Make your camp so the wind comes from behind or over your shoulder. Rig a solar blanket to provide shade during the day. Use it to reflect heat from your fire at night for warmth. Be prepared to to adjust your camp for changing conditions during the day.

Knot just for kids

The Clove Hitch

The 5 basic knots found on the Desert Bandanna are all you need to rig almost anything: shelter, supports, snares; and much more. Properly tied they won’t collapse (come undone). Practice them until you can do them with one hand tied behind your back blindfolded underwater. It’s that important.

"DeRanger" Steve is a former tribal ranger. When on foot patrols of 5-8 miles in moderate to strenuous terrain with temperatures over 105° he used two Desert Bandannas to stay cool one under his hat and down his neck with the other over his mouth cowboy style. Kept wet with a little water every now and then they prevented dehydration while wearing a polyester uniform.
